Adapt- Pediatric Hospital Bed
Currently there isn't a quality pediatric hospital bed solution. A clinician has the choice to place any patient over the age of 24 months in an adult size bed (based on potty training, size, and type of bed used at home). However the FDA says that these adult size beds "are not appropriate to children." The lack of a quality solution leads to several safety issues including entrapments, medical line entanglements, and patient falls. Unfortunately this has all led to death. Adapt is a concept solution challenging the standard bed style as well as allowing the child the grow in not only a physical sense, but encourage cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
