Refurbishment of a scenic resort located in the south cost f Sri Lanka | The client required a transformation of existing spaces to come in par with the Avani global signature. The concept was built to complement the Bawa architecture & the clients requirement. Heavy value engineering was carried out to meet client's needs | Position held: Principle designer under Arch: Dipika Dharmadasa | Scope of work: Planning of extensive refurbishment work for the 112 rooms & public areas for 2 1/2 years, Preparation of Concept, Schematic design & drawings. Furniture, Lighting design & procurement, Art design & direction, Periodic supervision during Construction, Project management at the final build stage.

Proposed Standard room with new feature art over revamped bedsides which fold up to become the bedhead. A tight budget meant prioritising on what made the biggest impact
Standard mock-up room - The tired bedrooms were given a new lease of life through getting rid of unnecessary furniture, upgrading certain pieces of furniture, drawing in the beach/ lagoon views to the room through installation of mirrors, new furnishing to match new branding while new bedhead art work gave the extra umph.

Standard room mock-up - The curved shower area gave loads of character but was looking tired and old with unnecessary fixtures, all which were taken out to install mosaics which made it a cool, clean, contemporary space.
