A unique collaboration between iRobot and Intouch Health was created to develop a robot that fills the need of doctors being in any hospital at any time. This was an exciting and rewarding challenge to design a comfortable remote-presence experience for both doctors and patients.
RP-VITA is your doctor in the hospital room with you - even when that doctor is actually cities or countries away. Using state-of-the-art tele-presence and navigation technologies, RP-VITA provides face-to-face patient care in an effective, safe, and calming way.
With an iPad, your doctor logs into an available RP-VITA; tells it to find you; checks your charts while the robot is in transit; upon arrival, connects to local patient monitoring equipment; has a high-quality conversation with you - sharing xrays, diagrams, and videos to help you understand your situation and choices; and has a public (or if appropriate, private) conversation with the local care team while at your bedside.
