'Up-Cycling'
Output type: International Exhibition/DESIGN PRACTICE
Co-exhibitors: Sarah McDonnell, Fiona Raeside, Hilary McGloughlin.
This international exhibition was commissioned by the design consultants ‘Concepts Paris’ in collaboration with multi-national textile manufactures, Tianhai, Liebaert, Brugnoli Giovanni, Noyon, Darquer in response to changing trends within the industry and the growing demand for ethical design. This investigation of responsible design practice provided an opportunity to explore more meaningful products and systems with greater relevance to the world we are going to live in. A design group was formed to explore the concept of ‘Up-cycling’ by eco-designing fifty experimental lingerie pieces, morphing redundant fabrics into inspirational garments and exhibiting these at the Central Forum of the Interfilliere Lingerie Exhibition Paris 2011
