This class is where I had the most fun and felt free to be creative. I really enjoyed learning about all the different ways to decorate a cake, and also how to pipe roses.
This was the first cake I finished in this class. It is a chocolate layer cake with chocolate ganache and vanilla Swiss buttercream.
This is a carrot cake with a cream cheese filling and nuts around the edges.
This was my favorite cake flavor wise. A lemon pound cake with a lemon curd filling and Swiss buttercream with candied lemon peals for decoration.
This cake is a black forest cake with a Kirschasser simple syrup on each layer of cake with cherries. The top is a Swiss buttercream with rosettes, maraschino cherries and chocolate shavings.
This was just practice for our practical which is why it was done on cardboard. Three roses, some buds, and Happy Birthday with our name.
This was a hazelnut chiffon cake with a coffee Italian buttercream. On top, along the edges are rosettes with mocha beans. We were given the option of what to do in the middle and I wanted to keep practicing my roses. Since we haven't done them with Italian buttercream before, I thought it would be fun to try. Along the side of the cake is just tempered chocolate drizzled onto a piece of parchment and broken up.
