This was a group project which I was one of four members. The brief was to design a children’s toy crane which could lift 500g, but would break at 1kg. We decided on the design of a elephant. I was heavily involved in the CAD modeling of the toy, which was then printed on a rapid prototyping machine. I was also heavily involved in the assembly on the crane, for example dismantling a remote control car and adapting the motors to fit our toy.
This sheet shows the crane in more detail, to give an idea of how the internals worked, and their positioning inside the toy.
