Initial ideas - This project I chose to develop and refine handheld barcode scanners to help retail assistants answer customer enquiries on stock quickly and efficiently, improving customer service. Existing designs are too big to keep in your pocket, so my design is slimmer and more compact so it can be kept with you and not put down somewhere resulting in being forgotten about. The interface has also been simplified along with other built in features to improve the performance and usability of the device.
