Sustainable living

The brief was to produce a form of inclusive living, that would allow the home to be easily adapted to suit the owners requirements. For instance if an elderly relative was to become ill, then the home could be adapted to suit this, by providing an extra bedroom, a separate living room, or even installing a stair lift or hoist system. A moving wall system was created to allow the space to be arranged as required, and with only a couple of hand tools required.
Using a typical 3 bedroom home footprint of 98 square meters, 3 scenario's were considered, a couple with no children providing 2 bedrooms, parents with 2 children providing 3 bedrooms, and lastly a 4 bedroom set-up to allow for a friend, relative or simply a spare bedroom.
