Boss Design set a brief to create a piece of upholstered furniture for the modern office.
I had to look at research conducted on how the office is changing and how companies are adapting to this.
Research shows that employees are spending too much time sitting down and are both healthier and productive when movement is introduced into the office.This kind of design helps to reduce serious health issues such as coronary heart disease and some types of cancer.
I decided to create an all-in-one unit, containing an upholstered bench to lean on and a desk space to work at. The design was inspired through the idea of standing while you work.
I have included some of my early sketches showing a range of ideas.
