. //// Series of embroidery "Up heil, down heil" (paraphrase on a slovak folklore song) is a part of a project in which I am trying to find a form of contemporary folklore. By disrupting idealized image of Slovakia, which is common in folk pictures. In my emroideries are situations that are doing contemporary people. I was inspired by embroidery from small village Šoporna, which typical figural motifs reminded me of some kind of "folklore comics" about Slovak people in romantic scenes. I show my embroidery also from the other side, from the "dark side" where you can see how the craft is not very properly done. I change the stereotype about skilful housewives.
