Jumbo Tug
Jumbo Tug - Airport tractor - The outer shell of this airport tractor was fabricated from 1/2" plate steel for strength; this project bordered on civil engineering.
Durability and serviceability were the key points of the brief. These vehicles are abused in airports, hence the heavy engineering. We also decided to allow simple access to all of the serviceable parts by adding gas struts to a lifting body.
The top structure weighs around a tonne, but can be lifted by just one person.
