A concept sketch based on a Land Rover Defender 90 in Inkscape
In 1965 Land Rover began to develop a lightweight air transportable vehicle, the Lightweight R-6796-2 prototype was an early design.
The grill is particularly interesting, the lights and the bonnet fit superbly.
Technically, there would be a significant amount of work to create this from a Defender, so it would make sense to take an old Discovery and build the bodywork around it.
