Background
As a rule, young people don’t save.
Most of us never reach the point
where we suddenly feel able to put
money aside. Something always
comes up. The irony is that, by the
time you retire, a pound saved early in
life is worth much more than a pound
saved later in life.
The challenge
In these straightened times, make
saving ‘front of mind’. Dispel the
impression of savers as dull, miserly,
unadventurous people. Inspire people
to play the long game, even if it means
cutting down on spending in the short
term.
