Baltimore Humane Society Logo Re-design

The Baltimore Humane Society rests on 365 acres of farmland. This Humane Society is a non-kill shelter that places hundreds of animals into loving homes and also provides a resting area for lost pets. Part of its land has been preserved for nature.

The current logo reveals the Humane Society’s past, but also may confuse new comers. When the land was first purchased it was used as a horse farm. The Humane Society thought it was necessary to include an image of a horse in their logo when they infact do not adopt out horses. I believe the history of the Society should not be forgotten, but a logo is meant to reveal who you are and what you do. I decided to portray its history but still keeping it modern. The color scheme for the logo should be green and brown, to reflect the massive amount of land the Society has been gifted. I created a dog and cat, and used the negative space of the two animals to create the bunny, all animals they do have available for adoption.
