The CUBE lighting system was designed to create a more personal and in depth interaction between the user and the light. Instead of just flipping a switch to turn on the light, the user must pull on the outer shell of the light to reveal the OLED panels underneath. This also allows the user to adjust the brightness of the light by changing how much of the OLED panel is visible.
CUBE's form is inspired by the OLED panels that power it. The body is made of aluminum, with a glass surface on top/front of the unit. The 4 side surfaces of the cover have a laser etched pattern that reflects light differently in each recess. This gives CUBE some depth, while still retaining a highly refined and clean overall aesthetic.
