Pursuit to Freedom represents the notion of moving forth, in search of a well balanced- life.
Through an introspective trip to Kelantan, north- east Malaysia, I was inspired by the Kelantanese lifestyle and their spirit of determination.
I’ve came to realize that even while chasing after our dreams, we should take a step back and appreciate the little things that life has to offer.
I hope to represent this idea by utilizing two of Kelantan’s trademark; the Wau Bulan (a giant kite flown by men) and the Ikan Pari (stingray). What they both have in common is that despite the air and water resistance that surrounds them, they steadfastly continue to propel forward.
Colours of paddy field greens warmed by sun rays and the blue skies were adapted to reflects the lively folks.
This concept reflects the undercurrent of determination the Kelantanese have in providing a better life of their future generations while maintaining a carefree kampung lifestyle.
