As part of a studio overseen by Charlwood our task was to design a medical device that utilizes wireless technology with a focus on empathy towards the user.
I chose to focus on users who suffer from dementia who were prone to wandering.
My aim was to develop a way to monitor symptoms and assist dementia sufferers so they can live their lives as close to normal as they possibly can, while comforting their families who are worried about them living on their own.
I devised a range of jewellery and belts that had monitoring capability. I also designed a system which allowed carers or end users to have there own personal jewellery scanned then made with the internal electronics needed to perform the same function.
