A defining moment for HKST was launching the Polo 444 sneaker that created world wide buzz with its price tag of 25,000€ – it also came with a free car. Commissioned by VOLKSWAGEN to design the shoe and vehicle interior, HKST created a masterful duo that reflected a contemporary, understated, yet luxurious design with premium leathers and intricate detailing. The shoes were influenced by the engineering of transportation that were synonymous with the German roots of this famed car maker. Taking cues from the sneaker’s look and construction, the vehicle’s interior captured the same skillful movements. Named after the car’s length measurement, the collaboration was a limited edition run of only 50 pairs of shoes available exclusively at select VOLKSWAGEN dealers in Europe.
