Nike Kobe 8
co-design with Eric Avar
Inspired by indoor soccer shoes, the KB8 is a return to the minimal approach. Super light, mesh upper, lunar or zoom cushioning. BB Cutting tool.
The engineered mesh upper of the Nike Kobe 8 allows for extremely adaptive and comfortable fit, yet lightweight.
It also allows printing, which extends the life of the product through diversified seasonal story telling.

The Narrative of the Black Mamba is carried throughout the product in the outmost details. In the obvious ways like the scales part of the zonal traction pattern, but also in the minute Kobe code messages hidden on the product.
Nike Kobe 7 system
co-design with Eric Avar
At Kobe Bryant's request, we designed and developed a shoe that used different drop-in inserts to change the cushioning and support according to the particular requirements of each game. "Attack-fast" Racecar-like ride for the super fast paced games, and "Attack-strong" protective ride for the tough physical games.

This shoe was all about fit and bringing flexibility to this already great franchise.
by disconnecting all the eyestays from each other and being careful of how to maintain structure in the upper using a zigzag pattern of flywire cables, we created a more adaptive mid foot fit and improved on a great formula ! Simplify and go !
