The journey, from Sarkhej Roza being any other monument, to the understanding of the space in all its contexts and recognizing it as spiritual culmination of religion society and culture was intensive and fruitful.
While hunting down the information, I had my first lessons dealing with the bureaucratic system the country runs on. Understanding the sources of information and then formulation my own opinion for the progress in the project was a true test for my cognitive skills.
Among the two recognized spaces with potential to improve were Chikoo Wadi(above). This is a recently added space to the campus, presently used for picnics and occasional gatherings at the monument.
This space is the backyard of the Head Priest of the Roza and has huge potential to house activities of trade, helping the community economically.
The graphic design for these slides were done the other group memebers.
My first very formal client presentation. This project opened my eyes to the power I possessed as even a student of Design and has helped me gain a sense of direction in this versatile discipline.

Sarkhej Roza, Research Project

In this project I worked in a group of twelve understanding the complexities of a life project.
Brief: Studying Sarkhej Roza, a UNESCO recognized heritage site situated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, identifying problem areas of the site and uplifting the spaces in immediate relation with it.
Client: Friends of Sarkhej Roza (NGO)
This project dealt with intense research and ethnographic study of the space through various means of information. Classification and communication of acquired information and then developing the interventions.
