Here's a quick rendering of the basic shape of the stove. There are complimentary curves at the front of the stove and its back splash. The buttons and sloped front face is not shown here.

Stove Top Redesign - This is a quick hand sketch colored in Photoshop. This was a class project to redesign our stoves in our current space. There is a wall to the left and a 24" counter to the right. Since I didn't have to match a counter to the left, I decided to create an asymmetric curve that matches the back splash. Since this was a "fun" shape, I decided to make the stove orange to add excitement to the kitchen. I also altered the "knobs" to a button with a touch screen.

Stove Top Redesign - A red ring will appear around the burner that's been turned on and it will continue to stay on until the surface temperature has cooled. This is a safety feature to ensure that users know that the surface within the ring is still hot.
Stove Top Redesign - The current knobs need a lot of dexterity to control. With this redesign, there is a simple on/off button and then a touch screen to adjust the temperature. The shape and curves are complimentary to the other curves and shapes to reduce the amount of "clutter." This two step process also ensures safety since there is no heat until the touch screen is swiped.
