Mother & Child
This piece is made out of 100% polystyrene, with a marble-stone effect spray paint. I began with a huge block of polystyrene, chipping and sanding it down until I created a sculpture that resembles the mother and child.
Inspired by Henry Moore, the subject of 'Mother and Child,' is a fundamental theme that is evident in many, if not all of his sculptures. I find Moore's obsession with this theme fascinating and very important myself, and hoped to depict the beauty of the relationship between a mother and child through my sculpture.
