fith - these four chairs were a freelance job I did over the summer of 2011. I made loose covers for and as well as working to support the structure of the chairs themselves...
fith - they are currently used in The New Conway... and are possibly the most comfortable chairs in the pub....
fith - here we can see the button up backs of the chairs which tie in nicely with the other interiors.
second - french rocker covered in a beautiful tartan...
second - the second chair I did at college, its a vary old possibly french rocking chair, which has a stand (not attached in this photo)
first - This is the first chair that I upholstered on my course, a pincushion chair traditionally upholstered.
third - i covered my desk chair with the left over material from the first...
sixth - one of three chairs covered for the Nantybwch Community Project.

fourth - I was working in a workshop/storage space in an old barn, this is where I found two of these really old chairs...
fourth - nearly completed... I had to start from scratch, from the base frame and original springs, everything else is new. I decided to use leather as it was the original material, but I wanted to use a more contemporary color...
forth - these two chairs are the longest project I have ever had running, working with leather and old furniture has to be a consuming love affair to get the job done... now completed I will never part from them.

Upholstery

During 2010-2011 I did a part time course in upholstery, learning the traditional skills which I have found to be very transferable. Since then I have done freelance work and have applied these skills to live projects, such as the office chairs I recovers for Nantybwch Community Centre.
