0 G Surgical Worstation - This master thesis is a collaboration between NASA at JSC, Houston and Lund University Hospital to make an operating table for surgery in space. The 0GSW is an operating table designed to meet the requirements from intraoperative scenarios in micro gravity as well as the NASA standards.

0 G Surgical Worstation - Long term missions like Mars explorations will in the future very much depend upon the ability to solve medical problems on the spot, when the distance from Earth is too far for a rescue mission. Surgery in microgravity is in many ways different from the procedure on Earth. If successful operations are to be carried out in space there are essential factors to consider like fluid management, waste disposal, anaesthesia, working positions and restraints of surgeon, patient and equipment etc.
0 G Surgical Workstation - The boards can be positioned for various operating positions and since it is used in microgravity the surgeon can stand, facing the patient and have full overview while working. The boards easily fold together to reduce space when it is not used.

0 G Surgical Workstation - The 0GSW is radiolucent so that the patient can be restrained during radiography. The weight has been reduced to less than 6kg by using light weight materials such as carbon fibre, aluminium and low density polyurethane. The 0GSW also has mountings for the LUCAS TM system to provide mechanical heart compressions in case of a cardiac arrest. (-06)

The advantage of not having the plates stacked is that the preparation can easily be done without moving any plate. This is an important quality when serving from heavy pots. When it's not in use it can easily be detached from the wall. Any type of plates or bowls can be used in this application. (-03)

Peccorino cheese knife - This cheese knife has been designed for hard cheeses like for instance Manchego, Parmesan and Peccorino. The knife has a strong blade so it will not bend. It has a bend shape to make an ergonomic grip when the knife is pressed through thick and hard cheeses. It has a hole that runs through the handle so that it can easily be hung up on the kitchen wall. The shaft is made in black oak. Rivets and blade are made out of stainless steel. (-02)
