Void
The limit between the surface of the earth and outer space is 100 km from the ground. That’s about 1 hour by car on a highway, yet it is a reality we chose to ignore. If you were to travel away from the earth, in any direction, and after an initial flash of blue, you are engulfed by complete darkness. Ironically we are scared of the dark. The unknown troubles us.
For my diploma project I wanted to pull people into the vast emptiness of a black hole, to take the beholder away from his daily routine, even if just for a few seconds, to a place where time and space do not exist. The result is a work in progress I called Void.
