Our city –Istanbul- is waiting for an earthquake. In order not to live the experiences of previous ones, are we ready enough to survive?
Beside the constructional aspects, the other most important issue is the emergency evacuation after the earthquake (or other disasters)
The possible consequences are known as;
* lack of electricity, darkness * possible fire, smoke or gas freaks * panic * possible follower earthquakes * evacuation of elders, disabled and children
LIFT.S.O.S is an elevator interface system using electro luminance technology to help people in case of these possible situations and guide them to rescue.
Current information provided for emergency evacuation, such as signage and emergency lighting, is fundamentally flawed as they can become quickly obliterated by rising smoke, darkness and panic, rendering them ineffective. So low mounted lighting is the answer to this problem.
