Auxiliary Tools

Auxiliary Tools introduces the sceanrio of a designer in residence in an industrial kitchen. The designer becomes part of the design team and produces bespoke tools for the chef and staff by working closely beside them. In the project the designer has produced tools like an egg spinner for scrambling eggs on the inside, a late spinenr for decoration of plated, vegetable lathes and an aerator for creating airs and foams for molecular gastronomy recipes.

There is also an argument in the project for tackling idling technology by sharing one common motor betweena range of objects. The objects have been designed and made using low cost digital manufacturing like 3D printing and are inspired by the maker movement of iteration and hacking of othere objects.
