InQ TV - A Digital Signage solution that is integrated into existing queue rails, showing adverts relating to merchanised products at point of purchase. I developed a very light architecture with power and data in one cable allowing cabling to be routed through queue beams. This product also launches the company's digital media network and is the beginning of a digital media strategy. Following exposure at a large retail show in US and promos/trial in UK, feedback is very positive.
Electronic Gate - My involvement: Industrial design and project management. Overview: An elelctronic gate to encourage one-way flow into a defined area. The gate uses sensors to opens automatically at a defined approach distance. When passed through the wrong way an alarm sounds. USP: Slimest and lowest powered e-gate on the market
Argos Order Collection System (Retail) - Customer-Facing Screen: Split screen of digital advertising & order progress information. Based on a flight info screen, it uses colours, text and an audio message to communicate order progress. Service Touchpads - 3 pages allow staff to manage orders and monitor store performance. Colour coding & common page layouts enhance intuition. Extensive user research showed a clear positive perception of the trial system resulting in a 3 year roll-out plan for all UK stores.
Merchandising Products - Sainsbury’s Moveable queue merchandising units with clear acrylic shelving and light steel frames provide good visibility throughout. Advertising strips (orange) have minimal impact to merch. space. Best Buy Store Black & white queue zone encourages maximum product impact at impulse purchase point. Merch. Bowl Ticket Holder A PETG clear material to is spring-loaded using the shape of the bowl and set over the top of the bowl using tabs. No permanent fixings required.
Barclays Call Forward System - When a cashier position is turned off, the cashier number disappears & all other numbers re-align to give the illusion of a fullly staffed branch at all times. The styling compliments the new interior design for Barclays branches. I undertook site surveys to ensure precise fit of the gloss black curved steel casings & tinted acryic covers. The project was managed to co-ordinate with the construction company’s progress & the branch opening date.
20m Hand-Wound Barrier - Wall Mount Unit: Designed at a slant, it discourages people to use it as a shelf. The yellow area highlights the user interface and moving parts whilst the black surround creates a simple style to blend with a variety of environments. Post Mount Unit: Post 1 supports the Wall Mount Unit, and post 2 supports a clip for the webbing. The base of the posts are fixed to the floor. The slanted edge continues at the top of the posts and is also reflected in the bases .
