Sepia - This is
actually a project for a folding chaise longue. It is
designed for five people. What inspired me to create
this one were the movements of the sepia. Just like in
my previous works I am plaing with the gravity effect
and the human's body impact on the form. The usage of
carbon fibers and unstretchable cloth or fine steel
strings would make the production of Sepia extremely
easy, and its size (h=184cm w=40cm - when folded and
h=102cm w=240cm - when unfolded) would facilitate the
storage and its transportation from point to point.
Spider - I would like to present to your attention my project "Spider" being folding couch-hammock along with some of my past projects.
In implementing the idea I have been driven by certain main concepts. First of all, just as in some of my previous works, my general goal is to explore the reaction and the counteraction of the gravity on the objects. On the other hand I am striving to find the connection of the elements in order to obtain the ultimate wholeness of the form. Least but not last my idea is linked to the opportunity of maximum optimization of the furniture size when folded. I believe that I have achieved the goal I have set for myself having in mind that the dimensions vary from h = 96 cm/d = 45 cm (folded) to h = 55 cm/d = 310 cm (unfolded).
The use of aluminum for the construction and non expansive fibers for the net is possible in future implementation of the project.
rOOL - tabouret - The idea behind the rOOL project is inspired by the opportunity for
the furniture to be like a tool,just like in a workshop.One could use it
whenever he might need to.And when there ’s no need to put it aside,
without covering too much space.Thus the volume of the furniture
should be minimal when unfolded.
That ’s why the starting point of the formation stage is the plane.That
condition makes the possible construction of the items easier.Plus it
increases the options for the material used:wood,metal,plastic,etc.
The clarity of the formation principle allows the rOOL chair or the rOOL
lamp to be transformed into something usable with just one movement.
That multiplies the opportunities for usage.It ’s not limited only at home,
but those items could be used in lecture or conference halls,in the
nature,during some meetings.
The small volume of the rOOL chair allows it to be stored in a limited
space,to be transported my means of a vehicle or even manually.The
unostentatious geometric shape of the folding lamp and the folding chair
allows them to have a discrete presence in the house interior,having not
only functional but also aesthetical purpose.
