For my A level project in Product Design and my aim to bring design and music together, I redesigned and restyled in my project the Cajon Drum. The Cajon is a Peruvian drum using the acoustics from hitting it with your hands, to create different timbre and percussion sounds of a snare and bass. Normally they are a cuboid box. My design envisioned using a new shape and adding a new sound to it. It is fully functional and working, with a great snare and bass sound. Plus the curved sides also give a high percussive sound, giving a new acoustic drum to the instrument.
