Bootworks Theater Set: The Many Doors Of Frank Feelbad

Created for Bootworks Theatre Company in England, this set was concieved by Harriet Lansdown for the production of "The Many Doors Of Frank Feelbad."

I designed and built a working castle drawbridge joined to a decorative submarine hatch.
By building the design in Google Sketchup, I was able to modify dimensions and placement of features, and work out the mechanism for operating the drawbridge via counterweight prior to constructing it.

I welded pieces of the steal box-tube frame that formed the backbone of the set and the pin-hinges that joined the sections of set together.

I hung all of the doors on the set, making sure they opened and closed smoothly.

I installed the LED strip lighting for back-lighting the set. I figured out how to bend the LED strip around each corner, rather than cut and re-solder each time.

I did a lot of base-coat painting/texturing while other people followed and did the fine-detail.
