MolcaBeat is designed for the office environment where headphones are not practical and it also avoids the hassle of electrical cables. It's small size avoids becoing a nuisance on the workspace and it also becomes a modern office accesory. It amplifies sound without the use of electricity, so the elegant and functional horns of the phonograph provided an inspiration to its form. In addition, its form was also inspired by the "molcajete", a characteristic sauce bowl with bold and simple forms.
