The Wall Street Journal Digital Network : Community
As Design Lead for the Journal Community, I oversaw the implementation of the WSJ initiative to open its community to include both subscribers and non-subscribers.
Task: Provide tools to increase Community activity, while maintaining the value-add for subscribers to remain members.
Solutions: As a member of the Community leadership team, helped strategize and drive projects for improving groups, creating polls, implementing recommendations, improving email notifications, and improving Twitter, Facebook and Digg integration. Delegated projects and communicated with offsite agile development team to produce iterative improvements with low bandwidth and budget.
Result: Continual strong growth, averaging 4K new users and 84K comments per month on Community pages.
