Headphone Design, SenSound
2nd year Uni work. The brief was to design a set of ‘over-ear’ headphones. As this is a highly competitive market the product needs to generate visual appeal to stand out from the competition. The form, material, colour combination and surface finish has to create interest and desire for the product. Creating own brand name, logo and identity was also part of the brief.
This headphone has colour-changing LED lights integrated in both earcups which can react to the music played by the user. This is achieved by a tiny micro-processor which monitors the audio signal and produces different light shows according to the signal's properties. The user can also manually choose from other active or passive modes as well, where all the parametres can be tailored individually like colour, light intensity, light modes, preset patterns and more.
This design offers virtually unlimited options to customise the product's look.
