House 4

House 4 is a 2,800 square foot, single storey, single-family dwelling. Granite walls, trabeated glulam, open-concept, and connection to the profile, shape, and landscaping of the site are at the heart of House 4. High central ceilings produce majestic, grandiose hallway and lifestyle spaces, while lower ceilings along the outside profile offer a cozier, more intimate feel for bedroom spaces. 800 square feet of multi-level deck space provide the opportunity for social engagements to spill out into the exciting landscape offered by the site. All of this is topped off with a North American Native Green Roof system consisting of hardy sedum plants native to southern Ontario in a water permeable growing medium, a roofing system that will cool the interior of the home, while also filtering rainwater, releasing oxygen into the atmosphere, and attracting wildlife that promote a healthy ecosystem.
