For Art Technology Class our first project was to make a fruit portrait inspired by Arcimboldo. I had
to copy and paste many fruits onto the portrait I picked, which was Barack Obama. Most of the time
I was just working on the layers; making separate pages to make several fruits transparent by using
the lasso tool and other selection tools and copying and pasting them into the portrait. I had to
duplicate many layers of the same fruit to cover the whole body part, since that is what the project
required. It was a bit hard trying to crop out the fruit out of its background, sometimes I had to redo
it over and over again to get it exactly right, then other times I gave up and just used the eraser tool
to erase the edges. I am not fully done with the project, but so far I’ve learned to understand how
layers work and how to use them, and also learned how to use some tools. So far the project did
meet my expectations, and hopefully when I finished I will be satisfied with my work.
