Hip Hop Sneakers - Sneakers were embraced by Hip Hop culture for their practicality and funky styles. The culture, which was originally a celebration of life, positivity and upliftment, has become merely a commodity, exploited to make profits. In order to make a successful Hip Hop sneaker, the original values of Hip Hop must be revived. The concept is an injection moulded sneaker, designed to have a minimal environmental footprint, and uplift the lives of those who make it, wear it and influenced its styling.
Hip Hop Sneakers - The Sneaker consists of an injection-moulded one-piece sole and outer, made of recyclable polypropylene-reinforced natural rubber and an interchangeable separate liner. This eliminates the need for toxic adhesives or hand stitching, improving conditions for workers in its unionised factories. Modelled in Pro Engineer, rendered in 3D Studio Max.
Hip Hop Sneakers - The sneaker uses universal symbols in place of corporate branding. The sole tread pattern is in the shape of an Ankh, a symbol of life. The vents on the sides of the sneaker expose the liner material in the shape of an arrow, referencing wildstyle graffiti, representing the street influences on sneaker styling.
Hip Hop Sneakers - Toe perforations provide breathability as well as referencing classic street sneaker styling.
Hip Hop Sneakers - The Sneakers Can be produced or customised in any combination of colours, and custom laced like traditional sneakers.
