Kinetic Chicken
This was a two week project. The assignment was to reveal a golfball from a box. I misunderstood the assignment and went creative; I made a chicken that reveals a golfball. After class critique, I boxified the chicken and made it to shoot a golfball. That misunderstanding made me think more creatively and added another dimension to my project. I had to figure out the concept and movements myself. It was challenging to make things move the way I want it to. When making the final model, my goal was to make it work every single time so that I don’t have to say things like “um.. it works sometimes.. and it doesn’t..” I made 4 models prior to the final one and double triple checked the placement of the hinges and length of the strings. Precision was important since even an 1/8 inch offs made things different. It took me some time to figure everything out but I enjoyed this whole process. Fun!
