The Ponte is a car sculpture made for the “Hommage à Mercedes Benz” project. The sculptures had to reflect to the traditions and heritage of Mercedes-Benz and enhance the role of art in car design.
Inspired by luxury yachts and high-class sailboats, the Ponte is connecting the top of the car industry with the world of sailing.
The unique materials on the flaming surfaces enchance the car’s exclusivity and dynamics.
The 1:4 scale model was exhibited at the Hungarian Museum of Applied Arts on the Mercedes-Benz – The Art of Creation exhibition in 2010, and in the Palace of Arts, Budapest on the Mercedes-Benz – 10 Years Future in 2013.
The project was supported by Mercedes-Benz Design and the Transportation Design Department of Moholy-Nagy University of Art And Design, Budapest.
