DESIGN STATEMENT: Using design elements from China's Ming Dynasty, this extended stay hotel suite provides a fusion of ancient and modern. With both clean lines and ornamented pieces, this historical style is not out of place among modern amenities like microwaves, televisions, and refrigerators. The geometric motifs used throughout the space reaffirm the Ming ideals of balance and repetition. The color palette is composed of a soothing neutral, a blue that mimics the intricate designs on Ming vases, and a shade of red traditionally associated with luck and happiness in China. By using recycled, rapidly renewable, and regional materials throughout the space as well as energy saving appliances and water saving plumbing fixtures, this hotel suite is both beautiful and sustainable.
