This is the Kutol Counter Mount Foaming Soap Dispenser. It is designed to work with a standard foaming soap pump engine, similar to the pumps used in disposable foaming soap dispensers.
The design criteria for this dispensor was to utilize the foaming pump above the counter or sink, so it was easier to service.
Through the final design process, it was necessary to visualize many parts moving and working in conjunction with one another. One way I did this was to sketch out the interacting parts before modeling them.
As the ID was being finialized, the operational function of the product was not verified. I created this breadboard mock up to verify the behavior of the soap in a closed-system re-filling scenario.
The filling system required some structure in the way of the soap flow during refill - this breadboard of that structure was to verify the behavior of the soap while filling.
Here the molding condition was being discussed for the wide threads that drive the filler cap (which seals like a dish soap container). Draft and part-line were crucial to the efficient molding of this part.
Here is a pre-production representation of the filler system in use. The pump engine housing has been removed for filling.
A drawing package was required in order to provide inspection dimensions, as well as a bill of materials. Exploded views aided in assembly and revision notes were kept for parts and assemblies.
