Lighter Design
To re-design an existing lighter was the brief for this project. This meant deconstructing and understanding all the intricate details of the lighter and to determine the necessary parts. From there it was developing a concept for the re-design.
My concept for the lighter was durability and making the lighter last longer as well as making a user want to keep it for longer. This was achieved by making it more appealing - the gas level was highlighted adding to the ability to refill the lighter, an aluminium jacket for the lighter was introduced to accentuate the durability as well as adding an aesthetic quality. Certain features such as the ignition button were made more comfortable for the user.
