Coffee Table Light
For this 2nd Year Industrial Design project I was required to design a coffee table that included some form of light. I considered the various types of light but ultimately the only light that made sense on a coffee table was a light for ambiance.
From here I considered what other functions might the coffee table offer. The concept therefore became a magazine rack that used the spines of the magazine as part of the surface of the table. The light was then incorporated to highlight the spines of the magazines so the user could see which magazine is which. The lights further provides an ambient light in a room.
