This project is an Institution for Children who are Mentally Challenged. It features the concept of inclined slopes and triangles that symbolize improvement and balance. The color theme of the project is Orange. In color psychology, Orange represents optimism and sociability. It promotes creativity, playfulness and social wellness. These qualities, both form and color, are critical for the improvement of the children’s well being.
In terms of technology, full length glass and clerestory windows are used to maximize the usage of natural light to cut energy consumption. For this project, the full length windows also make the children feel they are part of the environment or community without physically going outside. That full length feature provides the open environment for them and make them feel secured at the same time.
