The project is situated in the uphill of Cabatuan in the province of Iloilo. It is a two-storey residence that has a total area of 243 square meters. The upper level has 2 bedrooms w/ walk-in closets, kitchen and foyer interconnected with a bar counter, dining area, living area, and balcony. The lower lever has 2 bedrooms w/ walk-in closets and one multipurpose area. The project features open plan areas for flexibility, full height windows with clerestory (awning type) to maximize natural ventilation, white-painted roof with dormer ventilation for lesser heat absorption, and the vista. The project presents three major challenges: limited budget, traditional construction methodology and source of materials. Because of these challenges, the client needs the project to be simple and cost efficient yet should not compromise aesthetic value.
