The Abyss of Time, by Martin Hutchinson
Hutchinson's book is about the prehistory of the Fibonacci Series. His main argument is that the Fibonacci Series 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,... would have been an ideal system for early travelling traders needing a flexible system of weights and measures base don addition rather than multiplication. This would explain why a number of archaic systems had thirteen inches to the foot, and used a baker's dozen of thirteen.
The author's manuscript was essentially finished ... I typeset and fact-checked it, redrew the diagrams in a vector art package, created a cover and generated the files for publication.
