After: the new shower is 5ft x5ft and offers more headroom away from the sloped ceiling.
After: there is no need for a door on a shower this large.
After: no shortage of storage or counter space, and it's all built in.
After: the new layout allows for a private water closet room with an intelligent toilet.
Before: the old tub surround was small and was past it's lifespan.
Before: the previous owners added 2 new vanities, but there was a big gap in the middle that the current homeowners filled with a temporary shelf.
Before: the toilet was out in the open right next to the shower.

From A Peeling Ceiling to Appealing Retreat

This bathroom was a mix of original fixtures and awkward updates. The homeowners were looking for more storage and head room in the shower, as they are both over 6ft tall.

DESIGN SOLUTION: Space was commandeered from the overly large bedroom. This allowed room to build a separate water closet and expand the bathroom vanity length. They did not need a tub, so we opted for a large shower with room for 2 shower heads. The ceilings in the corner of the bathroom slope down, and by expanding the shower, we were able to get the shower heads to a part of the room with taller ceilings.
