Artist Poster: Daniel Libeskind
The poster advertises a fictitious lecture given by Daniel Libeskind, internationally noted architect, about his philosophy of seeing "buildings as objects of reflection."
I chose Daniel Libeskind for this project because I found his work the most exciting and interesting. I began with three distinct concepts for a talk or lecture about or given by Libeskind and did some ideation for each. I chose one thumbnail from each concept to refine by hand at full scale--11"x17" in this case. I then took two one the computer and roughed them out, finally selecting Buildings as Objects of Reflection with input from the class and my instructor. After at least a dozen iterations of refinement, touching upon everything from font, font color, location, boxes, spacing, and of course the background image, I arrived at the poster above.
The background image and reflected text were created in Photoshop, the logo graphics were created in Illustrator, and the layout and text were done in Indesign.
