Steering Wheel Music Controller //2012
This prototype model of a portable steering wheel mobile device controller designed to strike a balance between highly functional operation control and minimal simplicity. The subject of distracted driving has been a recent social and legal issue with the increase in the complexity and ability of mobile devices. While newer vehicles are quickly moving toward built-in bluetooth operations, the long road-life and second-hand ownership of older vehicles create a market for this portable mobile controller. Which aims to be universally programmable and customized to features desired by the user. The use of a thumb operated click wheel and minimalist action buttons are intended for ease of the user to commit to muscle memory, and provide an unobtrusive alternative to hands free devices which still require on-screen interaction in older vehicle models.
