Rapid Prototype UAV

UAV //2012

A cooperative project between Industrial Design students Eric Chiang and Chris Perron, Mechanical Engineering students Janet Doblanko, Nathan King, Kyle Telke and Mike Tucker.

The team delivered a concept for a rapid-prototyped UAV design to carry a Go-Pro Camera payload that could be easily produced and assembled with minimal manual time input.

The project included engineering analysis of aerodynamic properties of UAV aircraft, FEA analysis of exterior body, and electrical wiring of internal components.

Industrial Designers Eric Chiang and Christopher Perron performed material viability tests of wing structure, and designed the outer body of the UAV. This was done with considerations for fluid installation and interaction between internal components, as well as consideration for future aerodynamic modifications to the prototype as the client sees fit.

Successful cooperation and project management between the 6-person team delivered a viable concept to the clients.
